Hi there! I’m Gemma Canet, a compositor specialising in VFX and animation, with over 8 years of experience in compositing, including the last 4 years focused specifically on visual effects for high-end films and television series.
I’ve worked across both feature films and episodic productions, developing a strong skill set in CG environment integration, 2D compositing and projections, 2D/3D tracking, greenscreen keying, clean-up, and colour correction/grading.
I’m highly proficient in Nuke and Adobe After Effects, and my eagerness to keep learning has led me to explore tools like Mocha, CopyCat, KeenTools, and even some Python scripting—which I often use to speed up repetitive tasks and streamline workflows such as tracking marker clean-up.
I consider myself a hard-working, creative, and adaptable team player who is always excited to take on new challenges. I thrive in collaborative environments, am self-motivated, and always keen to grow both technically and artistically.
Ten months diploma. I improved my knowledge and skills in master rotoscoping, digital painting, keying, scripting and lighting techniques by taking an Advanced NUKE compositing diploma.
During the first year I studied direction and pre-production and in the second year I specialized in 2d animation, working mainly in Toon Boom, After Effects, Premiere and Flash.
The degree lasted four years. The first two were subjects such as sculpture, painting or drawing. The last two years I specialised in the audiovisual branch, taking subjects like video editing, advertising and animation.
